Concentration Camps
The Germans discovered the Franks and the Van Danns in 1944, when a non – Jewish woman heard them, phoned the German station and the Germans found them and placed them on trains and sent them to concentration camps. Anne herself went to many camps such as Westerbork, Auschwitz and Bergwn-Belsen. The conditions of the camps were very harsh. She worked hard, she dug large pits for the dead bodies of loved ones, she watched love ones die, the toilets were very dirty and open for everyone to see, all rights were removed from all Jewish people, they were forced to wear dirty uniforms, they were forced in trains for long hours with no food, water, space, fresh air, they lost all of their belongings, women and children were mistreated badly, they were flicked around as if they were dirt, they carried dead bodies of loved ones, they were given straw beds to sleep in , they were scared and frighten, they weren’t allowed to get showers or baths and they lost all body hair and tattooed.
