Indigo Love of Reading Foundation Fulfills Dreams at St. John Bosco
Today, May 11 at 12:30 p.m. St. John Bosco School received a once in a lifetime call! Our school was selected as one of the recipients across Canada for a 2009 Chapters Indigo Love of Reading Foundation Grant! The idea of applying for this grant was the brainchild of our principal, Ms. Sarah Osmond. Upon visiting our local Chapters store back in February 2008, she gathered the information for this grant and compiled a team to make this grant a reality. The team included Mr. Bryan Bramwell, Ms. Diane Chafe, Ms. Sherry Walsh and Ms. Sarah Osmond. The administrative team provided the time, support and encouragement for Ms. Chafe and Ms. Walsh to compile the proposal. Through their hard work and dedication to this project they were able to publish a stellar proposal that was able to bring us to the success of today! Through the next three years, our school will receive $70,000.00 in grant money that will build a library that will be the envy of any school across the district, province and Canada! Dreams are one of those things that are free, but for us today at St. John Bosco, our dreams have become a reality! As our students of St. John Bosco have said, “Open a Book & Open Your Mind!” Through the Chapters Indigo Love of Reading Grant, many minds will be opened and many dreams will come true!
